OEC says ‘farewell’ to a great Guy PDF Print E-mail

Jackie wishes Guy wel! There’s always a mix of laughter and tears when a top staff member moves on to a new career challenge, as was recently the case of OEC Employment’s Bourke office when Guy Gibbs left to take up a position with the Aboriginal Health Service.

“We’re delighted for Guy; his new role will see him working out in the field where he can really make a difference to the health and well-being of the community,” said OEC’s regional manager Jackie Davis.

According to Guy the learning and development he achieved during the time with OEC rounded out his previous experience as a youth and family health worker.  “The office administration, report writing and computer systems training from OEC have been invaluable. It’s allowed me to build on my previous work with troubled youth to broaden my career opportunities and I’m looking forward to putting it all into practice in the new job.”

“My work with OEC has been really rewarding, on a personal as well as professional level. One of my proudest achievements is being invlolved in an OEC project to create real job opportunities for around 30 people in my home town of Goodooga,” said Guy.  “Working with employers to give jobseekers renewed confidence in themselves through meaningful work is a great feeling.”

“We’re certainly sorry to see Guy go, but we can be proud that the skills he developed with us will certainly stand him in good stead in his new job. We wish him all the best for the future,” said Jackie Davis.
