A Dubbo College Senior Campus student has been awarded a scholarship jointly funded by OEC and Dubbo Local Aboriginal Land Council. The $1,000 scholarship will assist Year 11 student Chelsea Wood to complete her studies and achieve her Higher School Certificate.

Senior Campus principal Richard Skinner said Chelsea was a deserving student with great leadership potential.

“It is very encouraging to see a locally initiated scholarship go to Chelsea because she will not only be able to complete her schooling here at Dubbo College, but she will also be able to work on further developing her leadership skills,” he said.

“For Senior Campus the scholarship is another indication of the strength of the commitment of the local Dubbo community to assist our young Indigenous students to achieve their full potential. When the community supports a student to fully engage in their education and set important goals, the resulting improvement in educational outcomes can be enormous.”
